Built for Serious Canadian Traders. Not Everyone.

This Is For You If…

  • You want to trade US stocks and options from Canada with a real system
  • You want to understand technical analysis, chart patterns, and entries/exits
  • You also want long-term investing strategies for TSX + US holdings
  • You're frustrated that US trading education ignores Canadian tax rules
  • You value risk management and discipline over hot tips and signals

This Is NOT For You If…

  • You're looking for get-rich-quick trading signals
  • You want someone to tell you exactly what to buy and when
  • You're only interested in crypto or meme stock gambling
  • You don't want to practice on a simulator before going live
  • You think trading is a lottery — not a skill to develop

US Trading Education Was Never Built for You

Every major trading course teaches you setups, charts, and strategies. None of them teach you what happens when you execute those trades from a TFSA, convert CAD to USD, or file with the CRA. That's a different game entirely.

Great Setups, Wrong Account

That options trade your US guru taught you? Execute it in the wrong Canadian account and you'll either pay unnecessary tax or violate TFSA rules.

$50+ Lost on Every USD Trade

Every time you buy a US stock without understanding currency conversion strategies, your broker takes a cut you never see on the statement.

Emotions Kill More Accounts Than Bad Charts

FOMO entries, revenge trades, oversizing after a win streak — no technical analysis course teaches you the behavioral systems to survive.

Tax Season Surprise

T5008 slips, ACB calculations, superficial loss rules — come April, most Canadian traders realize they've been tracking nothing all year.

Trading + Investing + Canadian Intelligence. One System.

Trading is the main event. Investing builds your long-term wealth. The Canadian layer makes sure you keep what you earn.

Not a Guru. A Trader Who Needed Better Tools.

Sandy

Founder · Ascent Trading Academy

I built Ascent because I got tired of learning US trading strategies that fell apart the moment I tried to execute them from a Canadian account. The setups worked — but nobody told me about the FX fees, the TFSA rules on options, the ACB nightmare at tax time, or why my US dividend strategy was getting hit with withholding tax.

This is the academy I wish existed when I started. Not another course library — a complete system for Canadians who trade US markets and want to do it with discipline, proper risk management, and full awareness of the Canadian tax layer that changes everything.

My philosophy: Protect capital first. Build systems second. Grow wealth third.

A Trading Community. Not a Chatroom.

Structured cohorts, daily watchlists, trade reviews, and accountability. Not 10,000 people posting rocket emojis.

What Members Are Saying

"The Decision Framework changed how I approach every trade. I stopped impulse-buying and started waiting for setups that match the checklist."

— K.M., Software Engineer, Toronto

"I was doing Norbert's Gambit wrong for two years. The deep dive saved me more in FX fees than the membership costs all year."

— R.S., Accountant, Calgary

"The simulator graduation path is what sold me. Every other academy throws you into live markets on day one. This one makes you earn it."

— A.P., Engineer, Vancouver

Common Questions

Is this financial advice?

No. Ascent Trading Academy is education only. We teach frameworks, strategies, and systems — we never tell you what to buy or sell. All trading decisions are yours. We are not licensed investment advisors. Always consult a qualified financial professional.

Do I need a specific brokerage?

No. Our education is completely broker-neutral. You use whichever platform you prefer. We teach the concepts and mechanics — the execution platform is your choice. We have no affiliate deals with any brokerage.

Do I need a lot of money to start?

No. We strongly recommend paper trading before risking real capital. Our Pathway requires 30 days on a simulator before going live. Start learning with zero capital at risk.

Is this only day trading?

No. We teach swing trading, options strategies, and long-term investing — all unified under one system. Most of our strategies are multi-day or multi-week holds, not intraday scalping.

Why focus on US markets?

US markets (NYSE, NASDAQ) offer the deepest liquidity, the most active options chains, and the widest range of tradable stocks. Canadian brokerages give you full access. We also cover TSX for long-term investing — but active trading happens primarily on US exchanges.

Why is this "for Canadians" specifically?

Because trading US stocks from Canada creates unique challenges: TFSA/RRSP rules on options and US dividends, currency conversion costs, ACB tracking for the CRA, superficial loss rules, W-8BEN requirements. No US-based academy teaches any of this.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. No contracts, no lock-in. Cancel in 2 clicks from your account. If the system isn't delivering value, you shouldn't be paying for it.
